A policy expert on Europe says the
British government did the right thing by stopping Muslim extremists from
imposing their views on school children.
The British government has declared
that schools would be required to teach ‘British values’ after inspectors
discovered that school board members with hardline Muslim views had intimidated
teachers and imposed religiously-motivated restrictions at several institutions.
Dr. Ted Bromund, a senior research
fellow at the Heritage Foundation,
says British schools are governed by the Office
for Standards in Education (OFSTED).
The agency has been criticized for “being
feeble” and for allowing Islamist infiltration of British education in the
past. “So for OFSTED to come out now and talk about what they call the ‘culture
of intimidation and fear’ in several of these Birmingham schools is really
shocking,” Bromund tells OneNewsNow.
A report by the Associated Press, quoting British inspectors, said school
officials had promoted a “narrow, faith-based ideology” at schools in
Birmingham where the majority of students were Muslim. Some examples:
- Boys and girls could not swim together.
- Music lessons, deemed un-Islamic, were dropped.
- A Christmas nativity play was allowed - just not with the baby Jesus.
Inspectors also found that boys and
girls were segregated in classrooms, with girls sitting in the back; and that
anti-Christian chants were said during school assemblies, reports The Independent British newspaper.
The head of OFSTED, Michael Wilshaw, posted a brief video outlining the “shocking”
findings of its inspections.
British officials began
investigation schools after an anonymous letter described a plot called ‘Operation
Trojan Horse.’ The letter was supposedly
written by a Muslim to other Muslims, describing the plans under way in
Birmingham and suggesting it spread to other cities. Authorities believe the letter was a hoax. They haven’t said why, but the letter nonetheless
prompted the investigations.
Bromund says British officials want
to make sure that British schools teach what they are supposed to teach and don’t
end up being agencies for the covert promotion of radical Islam.
Take a lesson America! Settlement of Islam has already happened in
the U.S.
In
1974, before a gathering of the General Assembly at the U.N., Algerian
President Boumedienne said, “One day millions of men will leave the southern
hemisphere of this planet to burst into the northern one; but not as friends …
they will burst in to conquer, and they will conquer by populating with their
children. Victory will come to us
[Islam] from the wombs of our women.” In
2007, the U.S. General Accounting Office reported that nearly 10,000 people
from terrorist Muslim states were given Diversity Visas from 1999 to 2006. According to a U.S. Census report on Religion
in 2010, Islam was the fastest growing religion in the U.S. In the last 10-years, the numbers of Muslims
have grown by more than 1.6 million to over 2.6 million. Cities such as Dearborn, Michigan and
Murfreesboro, Tennessee are predominant Muslim communities. It’s been proven statistically that Muslims
have a far higher birthrate than Western Christians. It would seem that the words of the Algerian
President’s speech nearly 30-years ago is coming to pass.
Those
who have paid attention have witnessed the establishment of Islam in America,
not only by a huge increase in mosque construction and learning centers, but
also in American public education. It is
in education where Islam makes the transition from a religion to a
culture. Many Americans believe the
false narrative of a ‘wall of
separation’ and believe that our public schools are no place for
teaching Biblical principles (i.e., the 10 Commandments or Creationism) but
have no problem with Islam being taught and promoted in schools … because it is
taught under the auspices of multiculturalism.
From charter schools across the nation which promote the Gülen Movement
which seeks to promote Shariah compliancy, to a Texas High School in which a
Geography teacher encouraged students to dress in Islamic clothing (and had
them refer to 9/11 hijackers as freedom fighters instead of terrorists), our
nation’s schools are becoming breeding grounds of Islamic indoctrination and
conversion.
Take
a lesson America!
