As we
celebrate Christmas, the perfect gift that has been given to us is not wrapped
in shiny paper. We do not have to try to
figure out what the gift is by shaking it upside down. For the perfect gift we have been given does
not lie under a Christmas tree, but was born under the stars of Bethlehem in a stable.
My friend: If
God can reach all the way down from the throne of Heaven to the body of a
teenage virgin; if He can enter time from eternity; if the infinite can become
an infant … think about what He can do in your life.
The One who
created all things emptied Himself into a human being so that we could have
everlasting life. How did He do it? I have no clue. Mary didn’t know; Gabriel didn’t know; and
you can’t know things like that. You
just have to leave them up to God. And,
as Gabriel says, “nothing is impossible
with God.” [read Luke 1:26-38]
May you have
a very, merry Christmas … remembering always the reason for the season.
